Verification is the discipline of proving that a design works before it becomes a physical chip. Engineers write elaborate test-benches, functional coverage models and constrained-random stimulus. UVM (Universal Verification Methodology) is the industry standard, and skilled verification engineers are in higher demand than pure designers in most companies.
